New investment in white leg shrimps applying BIOFLOC technology in Phu Cat district

Recently, Binh Dinh provincial people’s committee has granted approvalfor Thanh Van Trade and Import Export Services Company Limited to implement thewhite shrimp farm project with application of Biofloc technology in Cat Khanhcommune, Phu Cat district.

 

Aquaculture is one of the sectors with the highest growth rate inthe world. Suitable technology to avoid environmental pollution and reduce thecosts has always been a concern for investors and areas where projects arelocated. Biofloc (BFT) has lately been acknowledged as one of the new biotechsolutions (Avnimelech, 2006) and sustainable method for large - scaleaquaculture.

White leg shrimp farm project applying Biofloc technology isregistered by Thanh Van Trade and Import Export Services Company Limited. Itwill cover an area of 20ha, be located in the high tech aquaculture areaplanned by the provincial people’s committee). The project has total capital ofVND 95 billion and is expected to go into operation in the third quarter 2018,producing 1,575 tons of white leg shrimps per year. The investor aims toprovide safe material for seafood processing plant for export and to increasethe value of aquaculture products in the area.
