Accordingly,the project will be implemented in 4 districts of Van Canh, Hoai Nhon, An Laoand Hoai An with total area of approximately 5,080 ha. The project has totalcapital of VND 3,600 billion and aims to raise 100,000 cows (40,000 breedcattle and 60,000 beef cattle). This is one of the biggest projects in farmingin Binh Dinh at present and it is expected to go into operation in 2015.  

In2014, animal farming for meat in Vietnam is mainly from beef cattles. Cattleherds concentrate in the North Central and Central Highland of the country, accountingfor 40%. Over the last few years, Binh Dinh has increased the productivity,quality and efficiency of animal farming in the area. So far, animal farmingaccounts for almost 51% of the total value of agriculture sector. Binh Dinh notonly has increasing demand for beef, it has advantageous land, climateconditions for establishing specialized area of beef cattle farming

Thecompany plans to import Brahman breed from Australia. This breed has goodphysical  strength and ability to adaptto tropical and dry condition. Its productivity remains good at hightemperature and harsh condition. In the first years, the company will importpregnant cattle and calves. After that, the company will breed cattle toself-supply calves for feedlots.

In 2014, Binh Dinhfocussed on completing the farming plan until the year 2020 and orientationuntil 2030, and carried out the development plan of high-quality beef cattlefor the stage 2014 – 2020. The province will continue the program of improvingthe local cattle herd and breed the high-quality beef cattle; farming industrytoward sustainable development.

Therefore,it is important and suitable for the farming development plan to establish cattlefarms with high technology and large scale like this project. The project isalso expected to contribute to the overall agriculture productiontransformation toward effectiveness and sustanability.
