According to Mr Nguyen Huu Phuc, General Manager of QNP, in the process of implementation of the business plan in 2012, despite the difficulties of the global financial crisis and economic downturn, the leaders of QNP took the initiative in developing suitable and effective business plans, building credibility of customers, retaining traditional customers, increasing new customers, raising the output of goods handled at the port, the revenue and profit, securing jobs and income for employees.

QNP leaders have visited most shippers, ship owners and shared difficulties with customers and partners; proposing practical solutions, such as providing free container storage for 20 days, priority in handling goods for traditional customers which helps reducing costs; increased inspection and supervision of the activities of handling .... Therefore, the mutual trust and bond between QNP  and ship owners and shippers have been strengthened.

Thanks to the efficient organization of production, labor productivity has increased, ensuring the handling progress meeting the diverse requirements of customers. In particular, in order to make use of large vessels, QNP has inspected berths to make sure cargo ships up to 25,000 DWT with reduced load can enter the wharf 350m; 20,000 DWT ships can enter the wharf 174m; 50,000DWT vessels (reduced) to handle at the existing wharf 30,000 DWT and it has been approved by the Ministry of Communication and Transport and Ministry of Maritime Administration. Recently, QNP successfully received a vessel of 50,000 DWT to handle wood chip for Binh Dinh’ businesses to export to Korea.

Regarding to QNP development as one of the key national seaport, Mr Nguyen Huu Phuc said that in order to meet the requirements of an output of 15 million tonnes/year until 2020; 20 million tonnes/year after 2020 and to seize new opportunities when the National Highway 19 is upgraded and the goods source from Central Highlands, southern Laos and north east Cambodia handled in QNP increase, the company is building a planning scheme of QNP until 2020 and its vision  until 2030 toward expanding the port space, the port’s advantages are highly exploited and its role effectively boosted in the course of socio-economic development in Binh Dinh province and other provinces in the coastal South Central - Central Highlands region.

In 2012, the total output of goods handled in QNP was over 5.7 million tonnes, an increase of nearly 4% compared to 2011; including 3.537 million tonnes of exports, more than 777,000 tonnes of imports and the rest is domestic goods. The output of containers handled was 63,035 TEUs, growing up 0.78%. The total sales of nearly VND 400 billion, up 19%. The profit was VND 21.5 billion, up 14.3%. The tax paid achieved VND 24 billion, up 6.81%. The average income of employees reached over 12 million VND/person/month, up 8.4% compared with 2011.
