A Decision 89/QD-UBND dated14/01/2014 approving the “primary school libraries and book publication” project of Room toRead organization, implemented in Tuy Phuoc and Phu My districts, has beenissued by Binh Dinh Provincial People'sCommittee (PPC).
Theproject has total capital of VND 02 billion, with the goal of developingreading habit, reading skills and provide reading materials to support thereading teaching in primary schools.
Roomto Read is an international non-governmental organization operating in education. Currently Room to Read is work in 10countries around the world, namely Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Laos, Nepal,South Africa, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Vietnam and Zambia.
InBinh Dinh, from 2005 to 2007, through East Meet West, Room to Read assistedconstruction of some primary schools in Phu Cat, An Nhon and Phu My districts.In the school year 2013-2016, the project on equipping primary school librariesand book publication is implemented in 20 schools of Tuy Phuoc and Phu Mydistricts. In the following years, Room to Read will continue to expand theprogram to other areas based on the actual requirements of the schools, theagreement with the Department of Education and Training and the PPC’s approval. The specific financed amount will dependon the donation Room to Read receives.
