Production unit of coconutproducts of Sustainable Rural Livelihood Project

Binh Dinhhas boosted relationship with foreign organizations, made effective use of aidsfrom international organizations and other countries in order to improveinfrastructure and implement socio-economic development objectives, especiallyfor disadvantaged areas. ODA has been an indispensable financial resource forthe locality’s socio-economic development.

Currentlythere are 05 ODA projects in Binh Dinh operated by the local government, namely‘Quy Nhon Environmental Sanitation’ funded by World Bank and Jica, ‘WaterSupply and Sanitation Project in Binh Dinh province’ funded by Belgiangovernment, ‘Sustainable Rural Livelihood Development’ funded by NZAP, ‘VietnamCoastal Resources for Sustainable Development Project’  (CRSD)funded by World Bank and ‘Protective forests restoration andsustainable management project. In 2014, total capital disbursed bythese projects is VND 362.69 billion, reaching 86.5 % of the year plan. Ofwhich, VND 336.4 billion is from ODA fund, reaching 89% of the plan andcounterpart fund is VND 26.28 billion, reaching 62% of the plan.

Binh Dinhis mobilizing JICA (Japan) to fund 01 project ‘Upgrading the sheltering harborand Building infrastructure of Tam Quan Bac ocean tuna port’. The project isplanted to carry out in Hoai Nhon district and has total capital of USD 80million. The locality has requested the Ministry of Planning and Investment toinclude it in the List of projects calling for ODA. At present, JICA expertsare surveying the site and investigating related issues.

In the upcoming future,Binh Dinh will give priority to appealing ODA in areas such as agriculture andrural development(agriculture-forestry, irrigation, aquaculture and povertyreduction); building infrastructure, environment protection and naturalresources, climate change adaptation, water supply and sanitation (drainage andwaste management), administration reform, human resource development…
