Participatory irrigation management conference

On2^nd and 3^rd June 2011, the Management Board of Binh Dinhwater supply and sanitation project and the Centre of participatory Irrigationmanagement (PIM) jointly held the conference ‘Participatory stakeholderanalysis for PIM development’ at Hoang Yen hotel, Quy Nhon city.

On2^nd and 3^rd June 2011, the Management Board of Binh Dinhwater supply and sanitation project and the Centre of participatory Irrigationmanagement (PIM) jointly held the conference ‘Participatory stakeholderanalysis for PIM development’ at Hoang Yen hotel, Quy Nhon city.

The conference analyzedand emphasized the roles of governmental authorities in building dams,reservoirs, channels… to supply water for agricultural use. Awareness raisingfor beneficiary people and social organizations in sustainable and economicalirrigation management and use was specially stressed. The participatoryirrigation management model will be piloted in Phu My district and then carriedout in other districts.

Water is essential forlife; however, fresh water source is going exhausted. It is so important to usewater source efficiently and economically.
