The event were attended by, on the Central side, Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh, Director of the Viet Nam National Authority of Tourism (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) and representatives of leaders of concerned ministries and departments. On the Thai side, there were Ms. Wiraka Moodhitaporn, Consul General of Thailand in Ho Chi Minh city; Mr. Praween Wirotpan, Chairman of the Thai Business (Viet Nam) Association (ThaiCham) and Thai agencies and businesses.

On the Binh Dinh side, there were Mr Ho Quoc Dung, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Pham Anh Tuan, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council and leaders of the Provincial People's Committee.

Speaking at the opening of the meeting, Mr Ho Quoc Dung asserted that Viet Nam - Thailand are close geographically, with many similarities in natural conditions, culture, religion... After many difficulties and challenges, Viet Nam and Thailand have become the first two countries in the ASEAN to establish a "Strategic Partnership" in 2013 and continued to upgrade to "Enhanced Strategic Partnership" in 2015. Identifying Thailand as one of the important partners, in recent times, Binh Dinh province has organized many investment and trade promotion campaigns in Thailand, thereby connecting, working, and signing MOUs with many localities, businesses, and Thai partners, opening up new prospects for cooperation in many fields.

Mr Ho Quoc Dung emphasized Binh Dinh was located in an important strategic position, with many potentials, advantages and favorable conditions for development. With high determination for development goals, Binh Dinh province has constantly improved and enhanced the quality of the investment and business environment, creating the most favorable conditions for businesses to confidently invest and implement projects in the province. This meeting in Binh Dinh province was one of the significant steps to promote the connection between businesses of Binh Dinh and Thailand. At the same time, through it, Binh Dinh could listen to the opinions of the business community and investors so that the province can continue to improve mechanisms and policies, contributing to promoting investment attraction, serving the socio-economic development goals of the locality in accordance with the planned orientation.

Speaking at the Meeting, Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh, Director of the Viet Nam National Authority of Tourism, said that Binh Dinh province in particular and the South Central Coast region of Viet Nam in general have a very favorable position for tourism development: Located on the cross-Vietnam tourism route, connecting the "Central Heritage Road", "Central Highlands Green Road", "East-West Tourism Corridor". Recently, Binh Dinh province has successfully organized many events such as the 2024 Binh Dinh Land and Sea Quintessence Festival with the theme "Binh Dinh – Ocean aspiration", the 2024 Tourism Festival with the theme "Blue Sea Calling - Seaweed Season" of Quy Nhon city, creating a highlight to promote the destination. In addition, Binh Dinh not only has potential, a favorable geographical location, many beautiful landscapes, but also is the land with long history and diverse cultural traditions. These factors are resources and advantages for tourism development.

Suggesting solutions to promote tourism cooperation between Binh Dinh province and Thailand in the upcoming time, Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh said that Binh Dinh needed to have policies to encourage and support airlines of two countries to open direct flights connecting major tourist cities of Thailand to Binh Dinh to create a boost for tourist exchange and direct investment and increase activities of promotion, cooperation, and two-way relations between Binh Dinh tourism and major cities and tourist centers of Thailand. Also it is important to have contact points, coordinate the exchange of delegations of officials and tourism businesses to connect and share experiences in tourism development, participate and actively coordinate with the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism to organize national tourism promotion programs in Thailand in the coming time...

Speaking at the conference, Ms. Wiraka Moodhitaporn, Consul General of Thailand in Ho Chi Minh city, affirmed that the Meeting with Thai Enterprises in Binh Dinh province is a successful continuation of the bilateral meeting between the Consulate General and Binh Dinh province in 2023. This conference aims to create opportunities for Thai state agencies and enterprises to learn about the potential of Binh Dinh province, promote trade, investment, tourism relations and build a cooperation network at different levels.

Ms. Wiraka Moodhitaporn also said that in the past 2 days, the Thai delegation had learned about policies, plans, regulations, investment incentives, and visited the province and Thai investment projects in Binh Dinh. This will be an important step in promoting the Thailand - Binh Dinh relationship in the coming time, contributing to upgrading the relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Thailand, which will be the first comprehensive strategic partnership in ASEAN. The Royal Thai Consulate General, Thai agencies in Ho Chi Minh City and the Thai Business Association in Vietnam are ready to support the promotion and strengthening of the relationship between businesses in Binh Dinh and Thailand.

At the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan emphasized that Binh Dinh province focused on developing green economy, digital economy, circular economy and the consistent view of the provincial leaders was not to give up the environment for economic development, especially that Binh Dinh province set priority for improving the investment environment, enhancing competitiveness and building modern infrastructure.

Currently, in Binh Dinh province, there are 10 projects of Thai investors being implemented with a total registered capital of over 106 million USD, mainly in industrial production, trade and services. Notably, many projects have been effective, have a widespread effect, and contribute to the development of Binh Dinh province.

The representatives of leaders of a number of organizations, associations, enterprises, and investors from Thailand and Binh Dinh shared their opinions and experiences. Typical of these were the statements of a number of organizations and units such as the Thai Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (ThaiCham); Vietnam Timber and Forest Products Association; Binh Dinh Tourism Association; CP Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company, Representative Office of the Tourism Authority of Thailand in Ho Chi Minh City... The inquiries of investors and businesses were answered specifically and in detail by the provincial leaders.

Speaking at the conclusion of the Meeting, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Ho Quoc Dung emphasized that Binh Dinh province always welcomed investors to the province. Binh Dinh is dedicated to supporting investors, preparing human resources, making  planning and connected infrastructure ready for investors. At the end of the “Meeting Thai Enterprises in Binh Dinh Province”, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the People's Committee of Binh Dinh Province and the Thai Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (ThaiCham) on supporting localities and enterprises of Binh Dinh Province to get connected in investment, trade, and tourism with Thai partners and vice versa.
