Delegation of Binh Dinh province visits Eamshaven seaport

In the Netherlands, on the morning of July 16 (Dutch time), in Groningen province, the Netherlands, Head of the Provincial Investment and Trade Promotion Delegation, Mr Le Kim Toan and the members visited Eemshaven port.
The meeting
The working session was attended by Mr. Ngo Huong Nam - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to the Netherlands, Ms. Vo Thi Ngoc Diep - Vietnamese Trade Counselor in the Netherlands, Mr. Evert Jan Schouwstra - Director of the Leeuwaden World Trade Center, Mr. Erik Bertholet - Business Director of Eemshaven port.
At the working session, the representative of Eemshaven seaport introduced information of the port's operation. Eemshaven port is a general port belonging to the port system of Groningen province, the port has a strategic position in transporting goods and connecting with the Nordic countries and Germany. It is one of the leading general ports in the Netherlands, operating in accordance with the ecological, circular port model. The port covers an area of over 2,800 hectares with main sectors: Offshore wind power (with 432 turbines, capacity of 2.8 GW, and is currently implementing 22 projects with 1,461 turbines, capacity of 10.2 GW), port services, chemical industry, battery production, data (where Google and some leading IT corporations have data storage centers, due to large and stable power sources) and other manufacturing and processing industries.
At Leeuwaden port, the delegation met with North Seaweed Company, a leading Dutch enterprise in the production, technology transfer and trading of seaweed products. The company's representative introduced the company's situation and expressed his hope to cooperate with Binh Dinh province to implement a seaweed production project in the nearesr future.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang expressed his impression of the scale and operation of Eamshaven port. The Vice Chairman presented information about the province's development orientation, the operation situation and the planning orientation of general ports; he emphasized the similarities with the ports of Groningen province in general and Eamshaven port in particular, with potential for developing seaweed production and business; at the same time, he wished to develop relations with Eamshaven port in the coming time to exchange experiences, learn the operation and business model of Eamshaven port; invited the leaders of North Seaweed Company to visit Binh Dinh soon to survey and implement specific projects. Also at the meeting, Mr. Evert Jan Schouwstra - Director of the World Trade Center and Ambassador Ngo Huong Nam spoke about the potential for cooperation between Eamshaven port and Binh Dinh province, and happily informed that the Leeuwaden World Trade Center and the Embassy will actively support the connection between Eamshaven port and Binh Dinh Province in the upcoming time.
On the following day, the delegation visited Siemens Energy Group in Berlin, Federal Republic of Germany.
