The meeting at the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Viet Nam

The delegation was welcomed by Mr. Christophe Bellanger - Deputy Director, French Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ms. Agnès Gomes - Head of the International Cooperation Connection Department, French Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIF), Mr. Remy - Deputy Director of the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Viet Nam, Mr. Dao Quoc Cuong - Chief Representative of the Ministry of Planning and Investment in France and representatives of the Embassy of Viet Nam in France.

In France, there is a system of 122 chambers of commerce and industry with 12 regional chambers of commerce and industry (of which the Capital Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry is the largest), with the functions of supporting and accompanying businesses in start-up, seeking investment opportunities, promoting trade; training human resources, representing businesses in negotiations; supporting the organization of conferences on investment promotion. He said that he had been to Viet Nam and was very impressed with the socio-economic development and the dynamism of businesses, investment opportunities in Viet Nam. He asserted that the Vietnam - France relationship has a long history in all fields; but the investment of French businesses in Vietnam in general and Binh Dinh in particular is not commensurate with that relationship. In the coming time, the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry and he himself will continue to act as a bridge, calling for French investment in Viet Nam in general and Binh Dinh in particular. The French Chamber of Commerce and Industry will coordinate with partners to organize investment promotion conferences with Vietnamese enterprises at the national level, and integrate discussion sessions with specific localities into the conference. It is expected that such a conference will be held in October 2024 in France and Binh Dinh province is invited to attend. He also suggested that the provincial leaders work closely with travel agents to include Binh Dinh in the system of stops for international tours.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr Le Kim Toan, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, expressed his honor to visit and work with the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He sincerely thanked Mr Christophe Bellanger and his colleagues, along with the staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in France for taking time to  meet with the delegation.

On behalf of the delegation, Mr. Le Kim Toan briefly introduced the overview of Binh Dinh, emphasizing the favorable location with numerous means of transportation; information on the socio-economic development situation of the province in recent times, especially the attraction of foreign investment in Binh Dinh, the areas that the province sets priorities to attract investment.

Regarding investment attraction, in recent times, Binh Dinh has made efforts to attract foreign investors. Currently, the province has 89 FDI projects with a total capital of 1.2 billion USD from 22 countries and territories (including 04 projects from Germany and 02 projects from the Netherlands); There are 02 investment projects from the French Republic: 1) The International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education of the ICISE company implemented by Prof. Dr. Tran Thanh Van - Chairman of the Vietnam Rencontres Association. This is a place for meetings, exchanges, and transfers of science and technology, annually organizing more than 20 international conferences and seminars on physics, astronomy, physics classes, welcoming many Nobel prize laureates and Fields Medal winner professors... 2) GreenYellow Corporation, France, through capital contribution and capital repurchase, currently owns 70% of the charter capital in TTP Binh Dinh High Technology and Energy Joint Stock Company; currently operating the Cat Hiep Solar Power Plant project, Phu Cat district. French investment in Vietnam and Binh Dinh is not commensurate with the good relationship between Vietnam and France, not commensurate the advantages of Viet Nam and Binh Dinh.

On the occasion of the visit, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee hopes that Mr. Christophe Bellanger and the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry will pay attention to supporting the connection and promotion of French investment in Vietnam. He respectfully invited Mr. Christopher and the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry to visit Binh Dinh province in order to survey and implement specific projects in Binh Dinh. When the conference is held in France in October 2024, Binh Dinh will prepare documents and send a delegation to attend.

The visit to France has successfully ended the working program of the Binh Dinh Provincial Delegation in 3 countries: Germany, France, and the Netherlands. The activities and events of meetings, dialogues, and investment promotion of the Delegation in European countries have received good appreciation from representatives of local authorities, leaders of friendship organizations, trade and investment organizations, and attracted the attention of the business community of the host countries.

In addition, the activities of the Delegation have contributed significantly to promoting the image, potential, and strengths of Binh Dinh province to other countries. They also help promote international integration, mobilize external resources, attract investment, and promote the province's foreign relations with organizations and localities of European countries, as a result, a variety of new cooperative relationships are more and more strengthened, serving the sustainable development of the province.
