The Italian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh city pays a courtesy visit to Binh Dinh Province

On the morning of December 12, 2022, at the Office of the Provincial People's Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee (PPC) Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang received Mr. Eurico Padula, the Italian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh city on the occasion the Consul General and his wife make a visit to Binh Dinh province. The meeting was attended by the leaders of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Department of Industry and Trade, Department of Planning and Investment and Economic Zone Administration.

Vice President Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang provided an overview of Binh Dinh, its potentials, strengths and the socio-economic development situation of the locality in 2022. He emphasized that Binh Dinh is currently focusing on marine economy development and tourism is oriented as a key sector of the locality. Overcoming the fierce impacts of the covid-19 pandemic and the unstable situation of world politics, Binh Dinh's economy is growing steadily. In recent years, the province has implemented many investment promoting activities through Vietnamese Embassies, Consulates and agencies abroad. Currently, the province has 87 projects with foreign direct investment of USD 1.11 billion. However, no enterprises from Italy have registered investment projects in the province.

In the coming time, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee wishes that the Consul General of Italy in Ho Chi Minh City will pay more attention and connect Italian businesses to the local area to survey, invest and run business in the province... The Vice Chairman would like the Consul General to strengthen coordination with the Provincial People's Committee in organizing cultural exchange activities to promote the friendship and cooperation between Binh Dinh province and Italian partners.

Consul General Eurico Padula thanked the provincial leaders and relevant agencies for their warm welcome. He expressed a good impression about the advantages of Binh Dinh and the renewable energy development sites he has seen in the province. He said the covid-19 pandemic has had a great impact on the activities of Italian businesses and he hopes that in the coming time, he will actively perform the role of a bridge between Italian businesses and Vietnamese businesses. Especially, the year 2023 is when Vietnam and Italy celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations and 10 years of partnership. He wishes to successfully support the Italian business delegation to visit and explore investment opportunities in Binh Dinh.
