Local adjustment of the 1/2000 plan of the eastern area of Thi Nai lagoon

On August 6, 2021, the Provincial People's Committee issued the 1/2000 plan approval for the eastern part of Thi Nai lagoon. The planning boundaries are in Phu Cat district, Tuy Phuoc district and Quy Nhon city.

 

Thi Nai lagoon

Total planning area is approximately 495 ha and it is divided into 7 sub-areas, which includes: a mangrove eco- park with an area of about 103 ha, sand dune eco- park with an area of about 34 hectares, a multi-functional tourist urban area to the west of Nhon Phuoc resettlement area on an area of about 43 hectares, a multi-functional tourist urban area in the south of Nhon Phuoc resettlement area with an area of about 88 hectares, a service area for boat anchorage covering 8 hectares, an aquaculture area combined with community tourism services of about 48 hectares and the existing residential area embellished and supplemented with new urban functions – to the north of Nhon Phuoc resettlement area covering approximately 50 hectares.

The planning objectives are is to establish urban, tourist and service areas, contributing to building the brand "Quy Nhon - Binh Dinh Tourism ". The population size is expected to be around 15,000 people.

The components of planning adjustment include: Adjusting to increase the aquaculture land combined with community tourism services (33.1 hectares) and converting it into Thi Nai lagoon ecotourism service area (122 hectares); adjusting to reduce 88.9 hectares of water surface land of the planning boundary. Also, a cluster of highlight structures in the urban area to the east of Thi Nai lagoon with a maximum height of 33 floors.
