According to the regional construction plan of Binh Dinh province until 2035, the orientation for the development of the regional infrastructure system for the railway includes: To upgrade the existing North-South railway, to upgrade Dieu Tri Train Station into Quy Nhon general station; to build two new logistics stations in Phuoc Loc and Canh Vinh communes, to prepare necessary conditions for gradual construction of a new North - South high-speed railway route running through Binh Dinh.

Binh Dinh government determines the importance of transport infrastructure improvement for the socio-economic development of the province, thereby contributing to the socio-economic development of the Central - Central Highlands in particular and the country in general. 

In addition to railway, the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and the Resolution of the Twentieth Party Committee of Binh Dinh Province, the term 2020 - 2025 identiffy the development of seaport services and logistics, including sea ports and airport as pillars of growth; building and development of transport infrastructure as one of the breakthroughs to create a driving force. Currently, Quy Nhon port is being invested to upgrade and expand to gradually accomplish the approved plan, in order to iincrease the transporting capacity of goods through the ports. To meet the requirements of transporting goods from Quy Nhon seaport along the North-South road, in the upcoming time, it is essential to invest in building and upgrading Dieu Tri station into Quy Nhon general station in accordance with to the approved plan.
