On the morning of September 1, 2020, the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam and PNE AG Group (The Federal Republic of Germany) had a meeting with Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee (PPC) which was chaired by the Vice Chairman Nguyen Phi Long.
Perspective of an offshore wind farm
PNE AG (formerly Plambeck Neue Energie AG) is a German Group
based in Cuxhaven, Niedersachsen state, Germany, established in 1995.
The group is currently implementing wind power projects on
land and in the sea (offshore). PNE AG’s business model includes planning,
constructing, financing, operating, and selling wind power farms. In addition, the
group’s products also include photovoltaic technology, electricity storing and
electricity generated from hydrogen gas.
The group is investing in several projects in a number of
developed countries such as Hungary, France, Turkey, the US and some developing
countries in Latin America, Africa and the Middle East.
At the meeting, PNE AG proposed to implement an offshore
wind power project in Binh Dinh province. The project has a capacity of approximately
500MW - 700MW with total capital of about 1.5 billion USD.
The PPC Vice Chairman Nguyen Phi Long pledged to create the
most favorable conditions for investors and kindly requested that the PNE AG group to actively coordinate with the
provincial and central agencies to carry our necessary procedures to start the
project.
Offshore wind energy is a new source of energy being
invested and developed in the world today. Offshore wind energy is converted
into electricity by wind turbines and produced with longer lifespan to suit harsh
conditions off the coast. On the other hand, wind farms create good tourist
attractions, places for study and "divine eyes" to help strengthen national
sovereignty and security in the sea.
When going into operation, it will be the first project of PNE AG group
in Vietnam and the second offshore wind farm in the country after the one in
Bac Lieu province.
Vice Chairman Nguyen Phi Long acknowledged and appreciated
the capacity and determination of the investor in choosing Binh Dinh to invest
in the offshore wind farm.
