Acting Korean Ambassador in Vietnam pays a visit to Binh Dinh

In the morning of September 19, 2019, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee (the PPC) Ho Quoc Dung and several leaders of departments and agencies had a meeting with Mr. Jeong Woo Jin, the acting Korean Ambassador in Vietnam.

At the meeting, Chairman Ho Quoc Dung said that the friendly and cooperative relationship between Binh Dinh and the localities of South Korea is significantly improved and effective activities have been performed in many fields; especially the friendly relationship between Quy Nhon city (Binh Dinh) and Yongsan district (Seoul city, South Korea).

Currently, the number of Korean enterprises investing in the province is not commensurate with the province's potential; therefore, the PPC Chairman would like the Ambassador to support and act as a bridge between Binh Dinh province and Korean businesses so that more Korean firms would come to investigate the investment opportunities in Binh Dinh province in the near future. At the same time, the Chairman also informed the Ambassador of the mission of trade investment promotion in Korea in October 2019.

At the meeting, Mr. Jeong Woo Jin confirmed that Korea is now the third largest trading partner and the 9th largest export market of Vietnam. Besides, the number of Korean tourists coming to Vietnam is increasing. In particular, he was  committed to introducing the image of Vietnam, Binh Dinh and its people to the Korean business community and hoped the friendly relationship between Quy Nhon city (Binh Dinh) and Yongsan district (Seoul city, Korea) would be more and more strengthened and there would be more activities to tighten up the bilateral relationship between Vietnam and Korea in the future.

Currently, Korea investor are implementing two projects in Binh Dinh province: Sepplus Binh Dinh Export Garment Factory with total capital of USD 900,000 and Renewable Energy Project using solar energy source with total capital of USD 71.14 million. In addition, there is a factory producing cattle and poultry feed of CJ Vina Agri Co., Ltd., an investor from Hong Kong and a cinema project of CJ CGV Vietnam Co., Ltd., an investor is from the UK and these are two subsidiaries of CJ Group (Korea). 

Regarding oversea investment, Binh Dinh has 2 projects in Korea, with total capital of USD 300,000, namely: the PE, PP, HD plastic beads production project of Dat Thanh Co., Ltd. with an investment of USD 150,000 and the food production establishment of noodles, spring rolls, hams... and trading and consuming electric machines and equipment with capital of USD 150,000 of Tuan Lien Tien Phat Trading Limited Company.
