FLC's Bamboo Airways has been approved by the Prime Minister

The Prime Minister has issued an approval for the Bamboo Airways project at Phu Cat airport, Phu Cat district, Binh Dinh province.
The Bamboo Airways (BAS) is considered one of the significant projects marking the investment promotion in Binh Dinh province in general, Binh Dinh Investment Promotion Center in particular.
The project site is located in Phu Cat Airport, with a total capital of about VND 700 billion (100% equity) and will use Airbus A320/A321 or Boeing B737 aircrafts. BAS will operate using the combined models of traditional full-service airlines and low-cost airlines. Also, BAS will provide basic services such as checked baggage, press, meals and charge with advanced services such as merchants, lounges or Lux Air service.
BAS divides its development strategy into 3 main stages:
- The domestic market penetration stage with 03 passenger aircrafts operates flights linking Quy Nhon with tourist destinations such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh, Thanh Hoa, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong and the flight route Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh. It plans to start international flight in the second year with flights connecting Thanh Hoa, Quang Ninh and Quy Nhon to the Chinese market;
- In the market expansion stage, BAS will increase its fleet with the growth rate of about 2-3 aircrafts per year, expanding its domestic air routes and start to exploit international routes in the region.
- In the stability and growth stage, BAS will develop new services and other value-added services, and increase its fleet to 20-25 aircrafts.
BAS has completed the purchase of 20 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircrafts and the aircraft are to be delivered during the period April 2020 and the end of 2021. The transaction is valued at USD 5.6 billion. Basing on its strategic objectives and plans, BAS develops a network of routes focusing on exploiting the strengths of FLC group and connects direct flights from Thanh Hoa, Quang Ninh, Quy Nhon, Nghe An, Hai Phong... with the markets of China, South Korea, Taiwan, Macau, Japan ... The plan is aimed at creating favorable conditions for target customers and its distinctiveness. In addition, BAS is committed to using its fleet effectively, ensuring the stability of the flight schedule and minimizing delays and cancellations.
The project will attract domestic and international tourists to Binh Dinh in particular and Vietnam in general, promoting Binh Dinh tourism and enhancing the growth of tourism in the area.
At present, the expanded Phu Cat airport has been completed and the civil aviation is in operation. Phu Cat Airport has been approved by the Ministry of Transport to upgrade and provide enough facility for 12 aircrafts in line with the Decision No.353/QD-BGTVT dated 1/2/2016 approving the detailed plan adjustment of Phu Cat Airport for the period to 2020, with orientation to 2030.
