Investment promotion for wood enterprises in Japan

On the afternoon of 7/12/2017, at the Consulate General of Vietnam in Osaka, the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association in Sakai and Marubeni Lumber Company (Japan) together with Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee (PPC) jointly held an Investment Promotion Conference in Binh Dinh in general and in Nhon Hoi Industrial Park - Park A (Industrial Park A) in particular.

The conference was attended by Mr. Phan Cao Thang - the Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh PPC, Mr. Hitoshi Kato - Chairman of Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association in Sakai, Department of Planning and Investment and 20 Japanese enterprises operating in wood processing.
Opening the conference, the Consul General of Vietnam in Osaka, Mr Vu Tuan Hai said that Binh Dinh was a potential province and had various advantages that businesses should invest in and committed to collaborating with the province in the upcoming time.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr Vice Chairman Phan Cao Thang briefly introduced the socio-economic situation of the province, infrastructure conditions, industrial parks and clusters, especially the industrial park A in Nhon Hoi Economic Zone (EZ), investment incentive policies and priority areas for investment. He also emphasized that Binh Dinh was drawing great attention of Japanese investors in their investment plan in Vietnam. Lately, business delegations have conducted many surveys in the area and expressed wishes to cooperate in the fields of energy, seaports, construction material, manufacturing, labor export, health care, organic vegetable, wood processing, water supply, fisheries…
On behalf of the PPC leadership, the Vice President invited the enterprises to make visits to Binh Dinh province so that they could investigate and gain an insight into what was available for investment and cooperation.
At the conference, Dr Do Ngoc My, Rector of Quy Nhon university stated that the Japanese Language and Culture Centre was dedicated to training Japanese for different people and to train skills of working in Japanese environment, to organize activities of Japanese culture exchange in the locality. The centre is designated as a linking unit for Japanese and Vietnamese partners in order to enhance collaboration in academic exchange, cultural exchange between two countries and to boost human resource quality and promote Japanese language in Binh Dinh.
At the conference, Mr. Vo Dinh Long - General Director of Saigon - Nhon Hoi Industrial Park Joint Stock Company, the infrastructure investor of Nhon Hoi Industrial Park - Park A gave a talk on the industrial zone, land lease rate and infrastructure lease rate of the Industrial Park.
Marubeni Lumber Company (Japan), which is investing in Nhon Hoi EZ, said that being located in Quy Nhon city, near Quy Nhon sea port, 20 km far from Phu Cat airport, Nhon Hoi EZ was convenient for transportation and for utilizing the facilities available from Quy Nhon city. In addition, businesses investing in Nhon Hoi EZ will be eligible for the best incentive policies compared to the government's price frame. The company encouraged the enterprises to invest in Binh Dinh for such advantages.
Working as a bridge between Binh Dinh and Japanese businesses in Sakai, Mr Hitoshi Kato pledged to promote the image, potentials and strength of the province and to lure investors to explore business opportunities in Binh Dinh. He revealed that a contact unit had been established at Kato Office Company in order to spread information on Binh Dinh investment.
