Taipei companies express interest to invest in textile and garment super-projects in Binh Dinh

On the afternoon of 11th June, Binh Dinh ProvincialPeople’s Committee (PPC) in collaboration with Commercial Bank for Investmentand Development of Vietnam (BIDV), Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in HoChi Minh City (TECO) held a dialogue between leaders of Binh Dinh Province and Taiwaninvestors and enterprises in Ho Chi Minh city. The event was attended byapproximately 100 Taipei enterprises and more than 30 domesticenterprises. 

 

An overview of the dialogue

The dialogue wasattended by Mr Luong Quang Trung, Head of the TECO in Ho Chi Minh city, Mr LaXuan Thanh, President of the World Taipei Entrepreneur Association; Mr Tran GiaPhuong, President of the Taipei Entrepreneur Association in Vietnam and theTaipei Entrepreneur Association in Ho Chi Minh, Dong Nai, Long An, BinhDuong...

Under the chairmanshipof Mr. Ho Quoc Dung, Chairman of Binh Dinh PPC; Mr Tran Bac Ha, Chairmanof BIDV; Mr. Luong Quang Trung, Director of TECO in Ho Chi Minh city, mostof Taiwanese enterprises’ questions  were answered and this isbelieved to lure interest and make a good start for Taiwanesebusinesses to  invest in Binh Dinh.

The majority of theTaiwanese firms  were interested in infrastructure available to serve  the  local economy growth, especially sea portinfrastructure.  Supportiveindustries were also one of the top priority for investment; and several investors expressed desire to invest in textile and garment projects in Binh Dinh. Significantly, one investor proposed alarge textile and garment project up to USD 300 million.

At the dialogue, PPC Chairman HoQuoc  Dungmade strong commitments on incentives for investment and simple procedures applied for Taiwan businesses when they invest in BinhDinh province.
