On 31/10/2013, ViceChairman of Binh Dinh People’s Committee held a meeting with the delegation of theCommittee for Foreign Non-Governmental Organization Affairs led by Nguyen TrungDung, Deputy of People’s CoordinatingBoard.
At present, there are more than 20 foreignnon-governmental organizations operating in different project and non-projectsin the province, mainly in rural development and agriculture, povertyalleviation; health, education, culture, vocational training, environment andclimate change, helping disadvanataged children, disabled people and agent orangevictims, and livelihood.
In the first 9 months of 2014, the PPC requestedthe Committee to issue permits for 07 organizations to operate in Binh Dinh,including International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies(IFRC/International), Passerelles Numeriques (PN/France), Orbis/USA andLOVP/USA; until now 03 organizations: SOMI/South Korea; LHAF/USA; PN/France, theother 04 organization are still waiting for approval.
The NGO programs inBinh Dinh are working well and in line with the socio-economic orientation ofthe locality, generating positive effects in the project areas.
The PPC leadersrequested relevant Ministries and the Committee for FNGOs to increaseinformation exchange between the national agencies with the locality in termsof NGOs and their activities in order to attract and use this source of fundingeffectively.
Mr Nguyen Trung Dung– Deputy of PACCOM appreciated outcomes of Binh DInh province in calling forNGOs donation and management of their activities. Also he requested authoritiesin the locality to improve the quality of reports, effectiveness of projectsafter investment and overall management to ensure the projects are in line withplanned objectives.
