Cargill inaugurates the extended feed mill project in Binh Dinh

Inthe morning of 10th May, Cargill Feed & Nutrition Company under CargillGroup inaugurated the extended feed mill projectof USD 20 million in Binh Dinh province, one of the eight feed mill plants inthe system in Vietnam,raising this plant’s capacity from 60,000 to 240,000 tons/year.

 

The plant will meet the increasingof animal feed in the Central region and Central Highland. The company aims toprovide customers with safe, trusted feed that maximizes the performance oftheir operations, which in turn helps to improve food safety across Vietnam’ssupply chain. This expansion means that Cargill’s total investment  inanimal feed and aquaculture in Vietnamover the last 10 years will exceed USD 110 million.

Cargill is one of theleading animal feed plants in Vietnam.In 2012, the company committed to constructing more plants, doubling the itsfeed capacity to 1.5 million tons per year by 2015. With this new plantexpansion, Cargill now has a total compound feed capacity is of 1.4 million tonsin Vietnamand will create approximately 50 new jobs across sales and support functions inBinh Dinh.

In addition to animalfeed, Cargill also invests in other commodities, namely cocoa product, food andbeverage ingredients… It is expected that Cargill will build a cocoa –chocolate production plant in Vietnamwithin 1-2 years.
