Seminar on Trade-Investment and Tourism promotion for South Africa - Vietnam

On 27/2/2014,At Muong Thanh hotel, Quy Nhon city, the South Africa Embassy in Vietnam and the Chamber of Commerce and Industryin Da Nang held a Seminaron Trade-Investment and Tourism promotion for South Africa - Vietnam.The seminar is to open up opportunities of trade, investment and tourism forBinh Dinh enterprises to South Africa market.

The seminar was attendedby South Africa Ambassador KgomotsoRuth Magau, the first Secretary M C Vander Westhuizen and Ms Truong Thi KimAnh, Deputy of Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Da Nang. Deputy of Binh Dinh PPC, leaders of Departments:Foreign Affairs, Planning and Investment, Industry and Trade and InvesmentPromotion Centre and representatives of relevant sectors and local enterprises participatedin the event.
In her speech, Madam TranThi Thu Ha, Deputy of PPC delivered an overview of nature, people andpotentials of economy and tourism of the province; she also expressed strongcommitment to supporting investors from the local government.
Ambassador Kgomotso RuthMagau asserted that Vietnamand South Africahad a variety of areas for partnership. Specifically, in agriculture, South Africa can provide products for Vietnam’s processing industry and importtropical products from Vietnam.In mining, an area with immense advantage in South Africa, this country can supply minerals for metal andjewellery processing in Vietnam;and South Africa can alsotransfer technology to Vietnamin this sector.
Some possible areas in South Africathat Binh Dinh can further investigate for investment are timber furniture, agriculturalproduct processing, tourism… The South AfricaAmbassador hoped that the information given at the seminar was useful andentrepreneurs in Vietnamin general and in Binh Dinh in particular will be more and more interested inthis market.
