PPC Chairman hosted South Africa Ambassador in Vietnam

On26/02/2014, at the PPC Office, the Chairman warmly hostedMs Kgomotso Ruth Magau, South Africa Ambassador in Vietnam. This is part of theprogram of South Africa Embassy in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce andIndustry in Da Nang in order to organize a Seminar on Trade-Investment and Tourism promotionto South Africa and Vietnam. Themeeting was attended by leaders of Departments: Foreign Affairs, Planning andInvestment, Industry and Trade and Invesment Promotion Centre.

At the meeting, Chairman Le HuuLoc introduced special features and strengths of nature and economy of thelocality, and he also pointed out the potentials of partnership in Binh Dinh and South Africa.Madam Kgomotso Ruth Magau stressed the possible cooperation in furnitureand tourism of which Binh Dinh has great advantage.
Total import revenue of Binh Dinh in 2013 wasaround USD 164 million, down 14.1% compared with 2012. Of which, the importrevenue from South Africawas around USD 5.6 million, up 15.1% compared with 2012. The main commodityimported from South Africawas raw timber with total revenue of USD 5.3 million, accounting for 95.1% ofthe total import revenue and increasing 22.5% compared with 2012.
South Africa is considered as one ofthe most potential markets in Africa continent for Vietnam. In 2013, total exportrevenue of Vietnamto this market realized USD 764.81 million, up 24.84% compared with the same periodof the previous year.
