Vietnam Airlines opens route between Quy Nhon and Hanoi.

On December 21 in Quy Nhon City, Mr Pham Ngoc Minh, General director of Vietnam Airlines Corporation had a meeting with the leaders of Binh Dinh, Gia Lai, Kon Tum and Phu Yen provinces and came to a mutual agreement on opening the route between Binh Dinh (Phu Cat Airport) and Hanoi and vice versa.

 

 
On December 21 in Quy Nhon City, Mr Pham Ngoc Minh, General director of Vietnam Airlines Corporation had a meeting with the leaders of Binh Dinh, Gia Lai, Kon Tum and Phu Yen provinces and came to a mutual agreement on opening the route between Binh Dinh (Phu Cat Airport) and Hanoi and vice versa.
 
Those in attendance at the Memorandum of Understanding signing ceremony included Mr Vu Hoang Ha, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Binh Dinh Party Committee; Mr Vo Duc Huy, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Central State-owned Enterprise Party Organization; Mr Dao Tan Loc, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Phu Yen Party Committee; Lieutenant-general Phuong Minh Hoa, Political Commissar of Air and Air-Defence Force; Lieutenant-general Nguyen Trung Thu, Commander of  V military zone; Mr Tran Bac Ha, Chairman of the board of directors of BIDV.
 
The route will be officially in operation before the Lunar New Year with 3 flights per week. The plane will take off from Hanoi at 12.15am and land Phu Cat at 1.45pm, then fly from Phu Cat at 2.30pm and arrive in Hanoi at 4pm on the same day.
 

According to Vietnam Airlines, Quy Nhon already has the direct route between Quy Nhon and HCMC and vice versa with 7 flights a week, the additional operation of the flight route from Hanoi - Quy Nhon - Hanoi will attract around 5,000 - 6,000 visitors to Binh Dinh per year.
