At the Forum, Mr Ho Quoc Dung said it was scheduled that on 10 January, the Petroleum Corporation of Thailand (PTT) and he would meet with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to report on the petrochemical refinery project worth almost USD 27 billion. The petrochemical refinery will be built on an area of 2,000 hectares and a capacity of 660,000 barrels/day (approximately 30 million tonnes/year). The project has been investigated for three years and the investor has decided to choose Nhon Hoi Economic Zone (EZ) in Binh Dinh due to its location, land availability and good deep seaport.

Binh Dinh has designated the petrochemical refinery as one of the key projects to create driving force for Binh Dinh’s socio-economic growth and lure more investment into Nhon Hoi EZ.

During the Forum, the IPC introduced the list of 15 projects calling for investment in 2013.

The entrepreneurs born in Binh Dinh shared many opinions and comments calling for close solidarity and cooperation between businesses, and expressed the desire to run investment projects in the province to contribute to Binh Dinh growth when they have opportunity.

When answering the questions of the entrepreneurs, Mr Ho Quoc Dung stressed that in 2013, Binh Dinh was determined to roll out red carpet inviting investment, therefore the reform of administrative procedures was very important. He also expressed the local government’s strong commitment to creating favorable conditions for investors in the province, including Binh Dinh entrepreneurs who are doing business far away and come back to carry out investment in the province.

The Forum helps to connect Binh Dinh entrepreneurs in Ho Chi Minh with each other and with the Binh Dinh homeland, encouraging them to overcome difficulties and challenges and get prepared for opportunities in 2013.
