Binh Dinh People's Committee of Binh Dinh Province has granted an investment certificate for a biomass fuel production plant for export and domestic consumption in Cat Nhon industrial cluster, Phu Cat, Phu Cat district. The project, invested by Ka Nen Limited Company and with a total capital of USD 20 billion is to produce biomass fuel from sawdust, shavings, waste and by-products of agriculture and forestry sectors.

With the project,  briquettes and pellets of compressed sawdust are bio-fuel originated from biomass materials through the process of hydraulic compression at high pressure. These small pillets are very convenient for using in various equipment and steamers and they are highly flammable due to its low moisture content (below 10%). The kind of fuel saves more energy compared to other fuels. It is often used in heaters, producing from 4200 ~ 4600 kcal/kg and very small amount of ash <1%. It is popular in the markets of European, Japan, Korea and North America…. Bio-fuel is replacing conventional fuels such as oil, gas, coal...

The plant is expected to have a capacity of 40 tonnes per day and will go into operation in the first quarter of 2013.
