The general objective of the project is toimprove the management of the province's coastal resources throughstrengthening institutional capacity of the fishery sector in the sustainablemanagement of resources; promoting good farming practices and sustainableaquaculture for the sustainability of the coastal fishing.
The project expects to achieve the followingoutcomes: improving the fishery sector’s development planning through the integratedspatial planning, evaluating integrated risk management, improving the data collectionand distribution system; increasing shrimps’ pest and disease control throughpromoting the use of certified species and monitoring of seeding quality;introduction and increasing good aquaculture practices; improving risk anddisease management in the aquaculture sector supported by the project;improving the livelihoods of the coastal communities in the project areathrough the design and implementation of the livelihood program and appropriateoccupation conversion for the fishermen who voluntarily give up fishing; andminimizing damages in the amount and value of exploited products throughimproved sanitation, and facilities the fish harbour supported by the project.
