Chairman Le Huu Loc attends investment forum in Japan

On the afternoon of 13th September 2012, in Tokyo, Japan, the Ministry of Planning and Investment in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan held the Investment Forum with the theme of attracting Japanese investment in the coastal economic zones. Mr Le Huu Loc, the Chairman of Binh Dinh People’s Committee and the province’s delegation attended the forum. On the afternoon of 13th September 2012, in Tokyo, Japan, the Ministry of Planning and Investment in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan held the Investment Forum with the theme of attracting Japanese investment in the coastal economic zones. Mr Le Huu Loc, the Chairman of Binh Dinh People’s Committee and the province’s delegation attended the forum. The forum is part of the event "Vietnam-Japan Meeting 2012", a largest exchange event between two countries ever held in Japan with hundreds of thousands of participants to celebrate the National Day of Vietnam (2nd September) and the establishment day of diplomatic relation between Vietnam and Japan (21st September).

The bilateral relation of Vietnam and Japan has definitely never been better than today. The trust and mutual understanding between the leaders and people of the two nations are at a very high level. The cooperation on the international forum and in the region is truly close. The economic and trade cooperation is also very  fruitful.

Japan has continuously ranked number 1 in term of the provision of ODA to Vietnam. Japan has become the number one investor in Vietnam among 95 countries and territories investing in Vietnam. In the first seven months of 2012, Japanese investment has registered USD 4.3 billion, accounting for more than 50% of the total foreign investment in Vietnam during the same period.

Currently, four Japanese enterprises with the total investment of USD 24.33 million are operating very effectively in Binh Dinh. They include New Oji Paper Group with a forest plantation project, which is also one of the first foreign investment projects in the province; Able Garment Industries Vietnam Ltd and YK-Anh Minh Co., Ltd investing in a garment factory in Quy Nhon.

At this forum, Chairman Le Huu Loc gave an important speech to introduce the potentials and advantages of the province in general and Nhon Hoi Economic Zone in particular to Japanese investors. More activities of Binh Dinh delegation in Japan will take place during this time in Japan.
