Two sides discussed orientationsfor cooperation in the near future betweenBinh Dinh and SNV, especially for the project "Sowing change seeds - Community-based climate change mitigation throughsustainable rice cultivation system"

Recently,SNV has developed outline proposals for theproject and sought funding from other governments;and the Australian Agency for International Development (Ausaid) has agreedto provide funding (approximatelyUSD 1.2 million). The project isexpected to be carried out in twoprovinces of Binh Dinh and QuangBinh from July 2012 to December 2014.

Initially, in the second quarter of 2012, SNV and Binh DinhPC will sign the project cooperation frame to kick off activities related tobuilding and implementing programmes/projects in i) Climate change mitigationand adaptation including the project "Sowing change seeds - Community-based climate change mitigation throughsustainable rice cultivation system", ii) Agriculture-forestry value chain, iii)Clean water and Sanitation and iv) Renewable energy.

The PC leaders appreciated and supported theproposal from SNV. They also requested the agency to integrate the project activitiesin the Program of building new countryside in the process of implementation inBinh Dinh province. The DARD is assigned to take the primary responsibility in providingthe information and preparing content for the project and the following steps.
