On 23/02/2012, the launch ofCompetitiveness Index Provincial (PCI) 2011, co-chaired by Mr. Vu Tien Loc,Chairman of Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and Mr. David B. Shear, U.S. Ambassador in Vietnam, took place in Hanoi with the participation ofrepresentatives of government and leaders of localities.

According to the PCI 2011, BinhDinh fell 18 places from 20 (2010) down to 38 (belonging to group Fairly Good). This is the 2nd consecutive year thatBinh Dinh has dropped in the ranking. In 2010 Binh Dinh fell 13 places (fromNo.7 to No.20). Five localities inthe Central key economic region has ranked as follows: Da Nang (ranked the 5th, Very Good group), Quang Nam (11, Good),Quang Ngai (18, Good), Thua Thien Hue province (22, Good) and Binh Dinh (38, FairlyGood).
