The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Da Nang city People’s Committee have jointly held a meeting to discuss a development strategy to link Da Nang and its adjacent provinces.

Those in attendance at the meeting included representatives of the Ministries of Construction, Planning and Investment, the People’s Committee of the provinces from Thua Thien Hue to Binh Dinh and JICA.

The meeting helped to build an urban development strategy and a linked region for Da Nang City, including a master plan for Da Nang urban development until 2015 and short-term plans of action for Da Nang City and its adjacent provinces.

According to JICA representatives, the central key economic region is lacking economic infrastructure though having great development potentials.

The practical study is expected to begin in this July and finish in 11/2009, implemented by JICA and relevant agencies of Da Nang City.
