High-ranking delegation of Champasak visits Binh Dinh

In the morning of 10^th January, at the office of the Provincial People’s Committee, the high-ranking delegation of Champasak Province, Laos led by Mr. Somsanit Buttivong, Deputy Secretary, Deputy Chairman of Champasak Province was warmly welcomed. The meeting was attended by Mr. Ho Quoc Dung, Permanent Chairman of the Binh Dinh Provincial People’s Committee; Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tro, Deputy Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council and leaders of provincial departments and agencies.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Ho Quoc Dung, Permanent Chairman of the Binh Dinh Provincial People’s Committee; Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tro, Deputy Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council and leaders of provincial departments and agencies.

At the meeting, the two sides informed each other of the socio-economic situation of 2010; the implementation of co-operation programs between the two provinces from 2006 to 2010. Accordingly, during the last 5 months, two provinces have carried out many cooperation programs in the fields of planning, agriculture-industry, education-training, health, commerce, tourism, transportation. These cooperation programs have achieved varied important results. Binh Dinh has supported Champasak with many livestock breeds and crop plants, agricultural extension models, veterinary equipment, veterinary training courses and workshops on artificial insemination techniques in cattle for technical officers in Champasak; scholarships offered to Champasak students …

The Industry-Commerce sector has organized many market surveys and joined trade fairs in Champasak for enterprises from Binh Dinh Province. In addition, Binh Dinh and Champasak have sent many delegations to pay visit to each other and share experience. In general, the cooperation programs have been efficient, both meeting the expectations of Champasak and according with Binh Dinh’s ability.

Leaders of the two provinces have agreed on the orientation for the near future cooperation: more products of the two provinces will be available in the markets of each other; people of the two provinces will travel more often; more business forums of the two provinces will be organized; commerce, service and investment relations will be boosted; all areas of culture, health, education, training and sports… more and more developed.

After TET, Binh Dinh will send a high-ranking delegation to visit Champasak and sign the cooperation agreement for the stage 2011 - 2015.
