Provincial leaders work with high - ranking delegation of Champasak province

On March 15, at the Office of the Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Vu Hoang Ha, Member of the Central Party Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr Nguyen Van Thien, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee received and worked with the high - ranking delegation of Champasak province led by Mr Sucan Mahalat, Member of Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP), Secretary of Champasak Party Committee.

 

On March 15, at the Office of the Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Vu Hoang Ha, Member of the Central Party Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr Nguyen Van Thien, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee received and worked with the high - ranking delegation of Champasak province led by Mr Sucan Mahalat, Member of Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP), Secretary of Champasak Party Committee.

At the meeting, the two sides evaluated the cooperation and development results under the MoU signed between the two provinces. Chairman Nguyen Van Thien said so far, Binh Dinh had implemented nearly all supporting contents for Champasak province, especially in agriculture, education with the total cost of about VND1.3 billion. In addition, Binh Dinh province also funded about VND1.5 billion to help Champasak province to purchase tools, repairing military materials and equipment. However, the cooperation still remains some restrictions such as complicated customs procedures, causing difficulties for businesses in clearance of goods; without preferential regulations for the use of Vietnamese employees working for some projects. In some other cooperation areas, friendly side still passive.

Mr. Vu Hoang Ha proposed Champasak province to establish the Steering Committee which would effectuate co-operation, assessing the achieved results of implementation; proposing specific and feasible plans of co-operation during the stage from 2011 to 2015. In addition, the agencies and branches of the province should also study and learn about the cause of  some non-effective projects. The co-operation between the two provinces must reach a new height, together making progress, enhancing co-operation and mutual assistance, developing comprehensive long-term strategy.

Mr. Sucan Mahalat highly appreciated friendship and cooperation relations between the two provinces; expressed the deep thanks to the assistance of the Party, authorities of Binh Dinh Province in recent years. Champasak province will soon have the mechanisms and measures to overcome obstacles and difficulties for the co-operation between the two provinces on the field of training of human resources, economy, defense security …
