FDI reaches US$ 59.3 billion in first 10 months

The Foreign Investment Agency (FIA) of the Ministry of Planning and Investment reported that FDI capital registered in the first 10 months of this year reached US$ 59.3 billion, with the final yearly figure estimated to be around US$ 60 billion.

 

The Foreign Investment Agency (FIA) of the Ministry of Planning and Investment reported that FDI capital registered in the first 10 months of this year reached US$ 59.3 billion, with the final yearly figure estimated to be around US$ 60 billion.

In Oct. alone, 68 FDI projects were licensed with a total registered capital of over US$ 2 billion, bringing the total number of licensed projects in the last ten months to 953, and total registered capital to US$ 58.3 billion.

In the same period, 247 FDI businesses operating in Viet Nam decided to increase their capital investment by USD 1 billion. As the result, since early this year Viet Nam has attracted US$ 59.31 billion in terms of FDI.

Malaysia is number one among the 44 foreign investors in Viet Nam. In the first 10 months of this year, with 40 licensed projects, Malaysia holds 4.2% of the total number of projects and 25.5% of the total amount of capital registered in Viet Nam.
