The People’s Committee of Binh Dinh Province has granted investment certificate to the Rencontres Du Vietnam to construct the International Center for Interdisciplinary Scientific Meetings at Ghenh Rang Ward, Quy Nhon City.

The Center is expected to be a place for scientific and technological exchanges between Vietnam and other countries; a place of training and providing scientific and technological services and related ones. The project capitalized at USD 6 million is scheduled to become operational in 2012.

Once operational, the Center will contribute to raise knowledge of lecturers in Vietnam’s universities, meeting the demands of international training in the Central region in general and in Binh Dinh in particular. Especially, it creates lots of opportunities for young researchers in the region to meet and exchange knowledge and experiences with experienced scientists in developed countries.

The Rencontres Du Vietnam of Vietnamese scientists abroard established in 1996 in French Republic is chaired by Vietnamese French professor Tran Thanh Van, Scientist of Physics. Until now, the Organization has organized a lot of big science conferences at the regional and world levels, of which six in Vietnam. The Rencontres Du Vietnam has co-operated with International Organizations for Science and the Vietnam Institute of Physics to open training courses, granting scholarships to students, postgraduates in foreign countries and Vietnam.
