On 20 February 2012, theProvincial People Committee granted an investment certificate for Quang Trung University to construct aTraining Centre of high quality human resource in Le Loi ward, Quy Nhon city.The Centre, designed to have 9 levels and with an invested capital of VND 40 billion,will cover an area of 1,300 m² and will train more than 2,000students.

The Provincial People’sCommittee has approved for Lac Hong Hotel Private Enterprise and Uyen VuKindergarten to invest two high quality kindergartens inTran Quang Dieu and Bui Thi Xuan wards respectively in Quy Nhon city.

Thegovernment monetary policy to curb inflation and the global economic crisishave significantly affected investment attraction in 2011. However, over thelast year, Binh Dinh Investment Promotion Centre (IPC) under the Department ofPlanning and Investment has actively run various activities and contributed tothe socio-economic growth of the locality. 

The unburnt brick project of Viet Dai KhoaTrade and Service Lt. Company has been approved and the company will carry outthe procedures to start the project in Cat Hiep commune, Phu Cat district. TheDepartment of Natural Resources and Environment will introduce the venue to beconsidered by the People’s Committee for the project.

On the approval of the People’s Committee, Department of Industry and Trade in collaboration with Department Planning and Investment, Department of Sports and Tourism, Economic Zone Administration will participate in the Central - Highland Region International Trade Fair 2011 held in Tuy Hoa City, Phu Yen Province from 01/9 to 06/9/2011. This event is part of the National Trade Promotion Programme in 2011.

Sustainableeco-tourism and resort have become more and more popular globally. Embracingthat concept, Viet Ca Dai Vu and A la Carte Promotion (Canada)Companies have jointly developed a resort and eco-tourism project in Chanh Oaivillage, Cat Hai commune, Phu Cat district. On 8 June 2011, the People’sCommittee approved for this project to be carried out.

The People’s Committee has lately granted aninvestment certificate for the Joint Venture Project of Khang Thong Group andSTFE Company of Thailand.The newly established foreign direct invested enterprise, KST EnergyDevelopment Joint Venture Company, will provide services of manufacture andtechnical consultancy. The registered capital for the KTS Energy DevelopmentProject is USD 3,000,000.

The Provincial People’s Committee has recently approved forthe Agro-Forestry Investment and Development Limited Company to start theirinvestment project in wood processing village, industrial cluster in Nhon Tancommune, An Nhon district.

The Provincial People’s Committee has approved for Ha Noi Development Consultancy and Investment Joint Stock Company GPB to continue to complete their project and submit it to the Ministry of Education and Training. The project is to establish Quy Nhon College of Economics and Technology (formerly named Nam Viet College) at Area 2, Genh Rang Ward, Quy Nhon City.

The Provincial People’s Committee has lately directed the Economic Zone Administration to speed up the progress of tourism projects in Nhon Hoi Economic Park.

The Provincial People’s Committee has recently directed the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to cooperate with Quy Nhon City People’s Committee and the Provincial Land Resource Centre to provide some land for Kim Cuc Investment and Construction Limited Company to carry out their multi-functional building project.

The Export Support Centre (Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency) co-ordinates with VietinBank Travel Company to hold a trade survey at the China Import and Export Fair - Canton Fair 2011 in Guangzhou (China) around April - May of 2011.

Many prominent investment promotion events of the province and region took place in 2010. The investment promotion activities have gained significant outcomes; organizing events, preparing and popularizing the provincial image have been performed professionally. The quantity and quality of the the projects calling for investment at conferences and forums have also improved.

This was a comment made by Ms Pham Chi Lan, a high level economic expert, at the seminar ‘Experiences in improving the transparency of the investment environment of Vietnamese provinces and cities’ in Da Nang city organized by Vietnamese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) on 14/01/2010. The comment was approved by representatives from Central Highland provinces.

In the morning of 16/12/2010, Mr Le Van Tam, Director of Binh Dinh Department of Planning and Investment had a meeting with Mr Ngo Chan Ly, Commercial attaché of the French Trade Commission - UbiFrance of the Embassy of France in Viet Nam during his visit to Binh Dinh Province. The meeting was also attended by the heads of the Investment Promotion Center, Binh Dinh Timber and Forest Products Association.

Seminar on Investment and Trade  Promotion for the key economic region of the Central Region and Central Highlands will be held on June 6, 2010 in Hue city within the frame of the international trade fair of the key economic region of the Central Region and Central Highlands (CREXPO 2010) by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce together with the other central ministries and Thua Thien Hue province.
