In the morning of 11 February 2009, the Department of Information and Media of Binh Dinh Province in collaboration with Nguyen Hoang Technology Development and Investment Joint Stock Company (NHG, Ho Chi Minh City) held a workshop on e-Office solutions. Joining the seminar are nearly 200 representatives of state agencies and businesses in the province.

State President Nguyen Minh Triet has asked central Binh Dinh province to make a concerted effort to boost its socio-economic development, with the aim of becoming one of the region’s most developed localities.

Export activities

The export value of 2008:

- The province’s export value of November 2008 reached USD 38.4 million, up 25.5 % over the set plan (USD 30.6 million) and a 51.7 % increase over the same period last year (USD 25.3 million).

Binh Dinh People’s Committee has just licenced the investment certitficate (IC) for Danh Thanh Dat Limited Company (Quy Nhon City) to invest in an incense powder and incense stick producing factory located at Canh Vinh Commune, Van Canh District.

Within the framework of the development strategy study to link Da Nang and its adjacent provinces funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), in the afternoon of December 10, 2008, in Quy Nhon City, the People’s Committee of Da Nang City co-ordinated with the People’s Committee of Binh Dinh Province to hold a seminar on collecting opinions and dicussing roles of the targeted provinces in the project.

Binh Dinh People’s Committee has just licenced the investment certitficate for Phu Hoa Trade Limited Company (Phu Cat District) to invest VND13 billion in constructing outdoor wooden furniture processing factory.

On 4/12/2008, the General Department of Standardization, Metrology and Quality Control of the Ministry of Science and Technology had the Decision to grant certificate of quality management systems compliant with TCVN ISO 9001:2000 standard to the Department of Planning and Investment of Binh Dinh province

On 1/12/2008, Binh Dinh Pharmaceutical and Medical Equipment Company (Bidiphar) and Fresenius Kabi Group (Federal Republic of Germany) held a ceremony to launch Fresenius Kabi Bidiphar Joint Stock Company.

On 25/11/2008, Binh Dinh People’s Committee licenced the investment certitficate for Ngoc Chung Limited Company to invest in production of fine art handmade products and coconut fiber products at Tam Quan Nam Commune, Hoai Nhon District.

The economic form of trading village has played an important role in the socio-economic development of Binh Dinh, creating jobs for about 10,000 households covering around 46,000 laborers.  

With the ideal climate and 42km of coastal line, Quy Nhon has become a centre for vacations and visits, attracting hundred thousands of visits every year. The City has achieved strong and sustainable growth thanks to the focal position of the tourism industry.

In 2005, central Binh Dinh province ranked the twentieth out of 12 provinces and cities about the CPI index, surveyed by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI). In the two next years, the province’s ranks were respectively the third and forth among total 64 provinces and cities. This showed the province’s determination in attracting investment and creating a sound business environment.  

Located inside the key economic region of Central Vietnam, Binh Dinh is becoming a dynamic economic centre attracting local and foreign investors. Vietnam Business Forum reporter interviewed Chairman Nguyen Van Thien of Binh Dinh People’s Committee on its socio-economic development and investment attraction in recent years.
