On the afternoon of 09/4/2013, a meeting washeld by the Provincial People's Committee (PPC) to praise and reward the teamsand individuals of Nha Be Corporation for their contributions to thedevelopment of garment industry in BinhDinh during the years 2006-2013. Chairman LeHuu Loc presided over the ceremony with the attendance of leaders of the PPC,representatives of the Department of Industry and Trade, Planning andInvestment, Construction, Natural Resources and Environment and leaders and anumber of employees of Nha Be Corporation.

Garment Industry in Binh Dinh province hadearly development since late 80's; however, due to small scale investment, lowcapital, no direct access to markets, much dependence on sub-contracts fromgarment companies in HCMC, ineffective leadership and productivity… theindustry used to be on the brink of bankruptcy.

In 2006, after takeover and complete equitizationof Binh Dinh Garment Joint  Stock Company,Nha Be Garment Corporation implemented re-structuring the entire company byliquidating large amount of old sewing machines, buying new and specialized modernmachines, and sending staff for study and training at the companies under NhaBe Corporation. The Corporation also invited lecturers to run classes in BinhDinh province and brought technical and management personnel to Binh Dinh toguide and increase knowledge and expertise on technical aspects and production management…Difficulties have been gradually overcome and so far,  after nearly seven years of construction anddevelopment, the province has 9 member garment plants of Nha Be Corporation,with total capacity of over 20 million products/year and invested capital of morethan VND 500 billion. Stable jobs have been created for 8,000 employees withaverage salary of over VND 3.3 million/person/month.

Despite the difficult situation of theglobal and domestic economy, the garment industry in Binh Dinh in 2012 continuedto maintain high growth with production estimated at nearly 24 million products,up 25.6% compared with 2011. 

The Corporation has also constructed and put into operatiionthree Vinatex supermarket systems in Binh Dinh, namely Vinatex Quy Nhon, Vinatex Tam Quan và Vinatex Tay Son with a totalinvested capital of VND 40 million, contributing to developing modernsupermarket system and supplying high quality Vietnamese products, maintainingstable price in the market and boosting the use of Vietnamese products.

In addition to business activities, membercompanies of Nha Be Corporation in Binh Dinh are  interested in social welfare work with theconstruction of houses for the poor, supporting relief programs for people inflooding areas, assisting poor students... To acknowledge these efforts, the PPC granted awarding certificates to the Corporation and Ms Duong ThiNgoc Dung, the Chairwoman of the Management Board and emulation flag for excellenceperformance 2012 to its branch in Binh Dinh.

At the ceremony, the PPC Chairman Le Huu Locappreciated the contributions of Corporation, Ms Duong Thi Ngoc Dung herselfand especially the role of Nha Be Corporation in garment industry’s  breakthroughs in Binh Dinh, which helps toturn the province into a large centre of Nha Be Corporation in particular andof the nation in general. He also encouraged the leaders of Nha Be Company to continueits investment in new garment projects in the province in the future.
