Export turnover estimated to reach USD 205.5 million in the first 5 months

In the first 5 months of 2011, the export turnover in the province is estimated to reach VND 205.5 million, attaining 44.7% of the year plan and increasing 1.3% compared with the same period of 2010. In April 2011 only, the export turnover achieved USD 45.9 million, up 7.3% compared with April 2010 (USD 42.7 million).

 

In the first 5 months of 2011, the export turnover in the province is estimated to reach VND 205.5 million, attaining 44.7% of the year plan and increasing 1.3% compared with the same period of 2010. In April 2011 only, the export turnover achieved USD 45.9 million, up 7.3% compared with April 2010 (USD 42.7 million). The export turnover in May 2011 is estimated to realize USD 35.1 million, up 3.2% compared with May 2010 (USD 34 million). The total number of enterprises engaged in export is 92; in which state-owned enterprises’ export turnover accounts for 1.5%, down 41.9%, non-state enterprises 95.3%, up 2.7%, foreign direct investment enterprises 3.3%, down 4.8% compared with the same period of 2010.

Due to the adverse impacts of the market such as inflation, hiking price of material for production, the fluctuation of gold price and dollar, bank rates, increasing cost of logistics services for wood processing…, export and import activities have encountered a lot of difficulties. However, in May 2011, export of agricultural, forest products and minerals has progressed well. Several products are increasing their export value and raising the export turnover of the first 5 months to achieve USD 205.5 million, up 1.3% compared with the same period of the previous year.

The import turnover in May is estimated to realize USD 11.1 million, up 76.2% compared with the same period of 2010. The accumulated value of the first 5 months in 2011 is estimated to realize USD 45.1 million, reaching 29.1% of the year plan, up 41,7% compared with the same period of 2010.

The main import products in the first 5 months in 2011 are materials for processing for export including woods, frozen seafood and fertilizers.
