Binh Dinh Provincial leaders welcome the German delegation
At the meeting, Mr Ho Quoc Dung was delighted to welcome the Ambassador to Binh Dinh Province, expressing his respect and gratitude for the Ambassador's time to visit the province. Currently, Binh Dinh province informed about the cooperative relationship between Binh Dinh province and partners of the Federal Republic of Germany, signed cooperation agreements, investment attraction policies and the investment cooperation situation in the province for enterprises of the Federal Republic of Germany. Currently, the province is focusing on investment for the new development stage, creatively applying scientific and technical advances and achievements in construction and development of the localities nationwide and worldwide to create breakthroughs to build Binh Dinh province more prosperous and beautiful.
At the meeting, comrade Pham Anh Tuan provided more information about the potential, advantages, investment attraction and development orientation of the province. Currently, the province has invested quite completely in infrastructure, especially transport infrastructure, focusing on the coastal route, and has, is and will continue to invest in many industrial parks, ready to prepare clean land funds of up to thousands of hectares to welcome investors; Binh Dinh is also one of the leading localities in administrative procedure reform when proactively cutting down the time to handle administrative procedures in the investment field, helping investors save time and expenses...
Mr Chairman hoped that Ambassador Helga Margarete Barth would support Binh Dinh province in establishing local-level cooperation relations with German localities, and would also be a bridge to introduce businesses and investors to promote investment cooperation activities, trade and tourism development, especially in areas Germany had potential and strengths (clean energy, renewable energy, manufacturing industry, logistics...), enhancing cultural and educational exchange activities between the two sides,... In addition, the province is actively promoting related procedures for PNE Group to implement the offshore wind power project, with an expected capacity of 2,000MW, investment value of USD 4.6 billion.
For AHK Vietnam, the Provincial Leaders proposed AHK Vietnam to continue to coordinate the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the two sides; especially supporting and creating conditions for Binh Dinh province to introduce and promote information on potential, strengths, economic zone, industrial parks, investment attraction policies, investment project portfolios, etc. to German investors through conferences, seminars, forums organized by German agencies, or on the website of AHK Vietnam and a number of other agencies supported by AHK. Also, AHK shall coordinate with the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province to continue organizing regular investment promotion conferences and act as a bridge, bringing German enterprises to Binh Dinh to survey and seek investment opportunities in the upcoming time. Binh Dinh province is committed to closely working with investors to seek opportunities and invest in the province.
At the meeting, Ms Ambassador Helga Margarete Barth thanked the province for the warm welcome, affirming that the friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Viet Nam and the Federal Republic of Germany have developed positively in recent times. In the afternoon of the same day, Ms Ambassador Helga Margarete Barth, Mr. Peter Kompalla, Chief Representative of AHK Vietnam and provincial leaders would attend the opening ceremony of the PNE Group's representative office in the province.
Viet Nam and the Federal Republic of Germany established diplomatic relations on September 23, 1975. In October 2011, during the official visit to Viet Nam by Chancellor Angela Merkel, the two countries signed a Joint Statement in Ha Noi on establishing a "Strategic Partnership for the Future". After nearly 50 years of establishing diplomatic relations and more than 10 years of establishing a Strategic Partnership, the Viet Nam - Germany relationship has been continuously consolidated, expanded and developed better and better. In terms of economy, trade and investment, the Federal Republic of Germany continues to be Viet Nam's largest trading partner in the EU and one of the EU's largest investors in Viet Nam.
Currently, the province has 4 investment projects from German enterprises, with a total registered value of nearly USD 60.5 million, operating effectively, contributing to job creation and increasing local budget revenue, mainly in the field of industrial production, notably the high-tech emulsion and thin film factory project of KURZ group, with an investment capital of USD 45.39 million, which has come into operation in phase 1 (September 2023);
The total export turnover in the first 9 months of 2024 of Binh Dinh province's enterprises to Germany was estimated at nearly USD 48 million, an increase of nearly 47% compared to the same period of 2023. The main export items include plastic products, wooden furniture, and garments, of which plastic products account for the highest proportion with more than 42% of the total export turnover. Total import turnover in the first 9 months of 2024 from Germany was estimated at more than USD 4 million, down more than 70% compared to the same period of 2023. The main imported items from this market are machinery, equipment and spare parts.
