He said he had been to Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and some other localities. He wished to have an opportunity to visit Binh Dinh where many Japanese investors have successfully invested in agriculture, forestry and fisheries.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Ho Quoc Dung briefed on Binh Dinh overview. He said that last March, Binh Dinh emphasized that the province now has 19 projects of Japanese investors and businesses (accounting for 22% of the province's total FDI projects), with a total registered value of 94.17 million USD (including 10 industry projects of 72.30 million USD; 7 commercial and service projects of 1.03 million USD and 2 agricultural projects of 20.84 million USD). In particular, Binh Dinh was one of the three largest outdoor wooden furniture centers in Viet Nam and its products are exported to more than 85 countries around the world. Wood chip products and wood pellets are the main products exported to the Japanese market.

Regarding fishing, Binh Dinh has the largest offshore fishing fleet in the country, with an annual seafood  output of nearly 265,000 tons, of which more than 12,000 tons of ocean tuna are exported to Japan, accounting for about 50% of Viet Nam’s tuna output. Binh Dinh is also the only province in Viet Nam that has exported whole tunas to Japan. Mr Ho Quoc Dung further informed that Binh Dinh was the only province in Vietnam that grew a cherry blossom garden with more than 2,000 trees brought over from Nara prefecture, Japan.

Mr Ho Quoc Dung said that the aquaculture sector was encouraged to develop by Binh Dinh province and a number of large-scale shrimp farming projects were being implemented. Binh Dinh province hoped that the Japanese Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries will support the transfer of advanced technology in fisheries, especially shrimp farming technology and promote Binh Dinh's products suitable for the Japanese market to support connecting Japanese businesses to Binh Dinh.

Mr. Suzuki Norikazu - Deputy Minister of the Japanese Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries appreciated Binh Dinh's potential in agriculture, forestry and fisheries and also its advantages in attracting foreign investors. He said that the Japanese Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries had a fisheries research center with environmentally friendly shrimp farming technology. Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan strongly agrees with Binh Dinh province on developing green agriculture in the context of increasingly strong climate change. Japan also had many famous wood companies, especially the ones of producing wood products for heads of state, the United Nations office, and the Japanese Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries was ready to introduce these companies to Binh Dinh.

Mr Ho Quoc Dung sincerely thanked the leaders of the Japanese Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries for the enthusiastic welcome and great support to Binh Dinh delegation. On this occasion, Mr Ho Quoc Dung invited Mr. Suzuki Norikazu and other leaders to visit Binh Dinh province in the nearest future.
