Binh Dinh is a province in the Central Coastal region, with a natural area of 6,071 km2, a territory stretching 110 km in the North - South direction, and is one of the gateways to the sea of the Central Highlands provinces and the Southern Laos and Northeast Cambodia and it has an important strategic position in socio-economic development. Binh Dinh is a land with a long history and culture, with many famous landscapes and cultural and historical relics. Among them, Bai Choi (traditional singing) in the South Central region has been registered by UNESCO as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity. Binh Dinh traditional martial arts are the pride of not only Binh Dinh because it has been popularized in many localities in the country and many countries around the world; Tay Son Tam Kiet Temple is a special national monument that preserves many artifacts and heroic imprints of the hero Quang Trung Nguyen Hue with his famous victories in the nation's history. With 134 km of the province's coastline stretching from North to South, and many pristine beaches, Binh Dinh has much great potential for tourism development in Viet Nam and the region.

Binh Dinh has a relatively comprehensive and convenient transportation system connecting regions, with all modes of transportation (such as roadway, railway, airway, and sea way). Quy Nhon international seaport is one of Vietnam's 10 major seaports, with the advantage of a sheltered anchorage area that can safely receive cargo ships up to 70,000 DTW. Phu Cat Airport has flights to and from Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Hai Phong, Thanh Hoa, Can Tho, Da Lat... and is requested  to be converted into an international airport.

In 2023, the gross local product (GRDP) increased by 7.61%, exceeding the plan assigned by the Provincial People's Council (7 - 7.5%) and ranked 17/63 localities in the country, 6/14 localities of the North Central region and Central coastal region and 1/5 locality in the Central key economic region. The province's economic scale was valued at 117,668.8 billion VND; ranked 24/63 localities in the country, 5/14 localities in the North Central and Central Coastal regions and 3/5 localities in the Central key economic region. The total state budget revenue in the province exceeded estimates; export turnover completed 100% of the plan (1.6 billion USD); tourism activities grew positively with more than 5 million visitors, an increase of 21.4% compared to 2022 (of which: international visitors are estimated to reach 80,000, an increase of 1.3%, domestic visitors were estimated to reach the number of 4,920,700 visitors), increasing by 21.8% compared to 2022); Total tourism revenue in 2023 was estimated to reach 16,405 billion VND, increasing 25% compared to 2022.

The province's socio-economic development perspective in the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, is to maximize the potential and specific advantages to convert Binh Dinh into a province with high proportion of industrial and service economy, being the center of processing industry, manufacturing, services and tourism of the Central Coast - Central Highlands region; the country's major center for marine economic development; an important point of connection for economic and foreign trade between Vietnam and Mekong sub-region countries; national and international tourism with a modern socio-economic infrastructure system; ensuring environmental sustainability; preserving and promoting the identity and cultural beauty of ethnic groups; ensuring national defense, security and social order and safety.

The goal is that by 2030, Binh Dinh province will become a developed province in the leading group in the Central region of Viet Nam, connecting and having a spreading impact on the Northern Central Highlands provinces; the province's economy develops faster, more sustainably and greener based on the growth pillars: high-tech agriculture, manufacturing and processing industry, tourism services, logistics and transportation, urbanization; develop all fields with the principle of sustainable development as the top priority. Besides, the province focuses on developing green economy, circular economy, and marine economy. The goals will be successfully implemented for

digital transformation, innovation, strongly improving the business investment environment, becoming an attractive destination for large domestic and foreign investors and businesses. The provincial competitiveness index will be among the highest in the country.

According to the master plan with development vision to 2050, Binh Dinh will continue to be in the leading group in the Central region with a GRDP per capita and urbanization rate higher than the national average, being a center of science and technology, innovation, and important application of artificial intelligence in Vietnam.

In the current period, Binh Dinh province focuses on inviting investors with modern, environmentally friendly technology, efficient use of resources, and products with competitive advantages, specifically for projects that Binh Dinh province invites, including:

- Agriculture, forestry and fisheries field: Livestock and poultry processing; food processing, functional foods; seafood processing; agricultural and forestry product processing;

- Industrial field: Infrastructure of industrial parks and clusters; factories manufacturing components, manufacturing and assembling cars; manufacturing specialized electric motors; manufacturing electric wires and cables, electrical equipment and accessories; high-end fashion and footwear products; software production center; data center (Big Data); renewable energy projects (wind power, solar power...).
