The Ministry of Transport has just announced a list of ports of Vietnam's seaport system, dividing ports by each locality instead of each region as before. Binh Dinh has 4 ports: Quy Nhon Port, Tan Cang Quy Nhon Port, Thi Nai Port and Quy Nhon Military Port.
According to the new decision, Vietnam's
seaports have 296 ports. Of which, in the North, Quang Ninh has 14 ports, Hai
Phong has 50 ports, Nam Dinh has 3 ports, Thai Binh has 2 ports, Thanh Hoa has
10 ports, Nghe An has 7 ports, Ha Tinh has 6 ports, Quang Binh has 4 ports s,
Quang Tri 2 ports, Thua Thien Hue 2 ports, Da Nang 8 ports,
Quang Nam 3 ports, Quang Ngai 8 ports, Binh Dinh 4 ports, Phu Yen 1 berth,
Khanh Hoa 17 ports, Ninh Thuan 3 ports, Binh Thuan 6 ports.
In the southern region, Ba Ria - Vung Tau
seaport has 47 ports, Binh Duong 1 port, Dong Nai 18 ports, Ho Chi Minh City 40
ports, Long An 3 ports, Tien Giang 2 ports, Dong Thap 3 ports, Ben Tre 1 ports,
Vinh Long 3 ports, Can Tho 17 ports, Hau Giang 2 ports, Soc Trang 1 port, Tra
Vinh 2 ports, An Giang 1 port, Kien Giang 4 ports and Ca Mau 1 port.
Therefore, there are changes in the number of
ports in many areas. In particular, in Hai Phong Ha Long Mechanical port and Border port are not in the plan to develop. According to this
decision, 3 ports in Ho Chi Minh City have been reduced compared to before,
there are no more ports: Tan Cang; Holcim Hiep Phuoc cement; Ba Son ship
building and repairing factory.
Two ports, VIMC Hau Giang general port and Lee
& Man international specialized port belong to Hau Giang seaport, instead
of Can Tho seaport as before. Superdong Tran De - Soc Trang port is also in the
Soc Trang seaport area, instead of Can Tho.
In this decision, a number of new ports are
added, including: the port of Van Phong 1 BOT Thermal Power Plant (Khanh Hoa),
the specialized port of Nghi Son 2 Thermal Power Plant and the port of the
project of Gas & LNG and other types of auxiliary oil refining and
petrochemicals in Nghi Son (Thanh Hoa), Trung Nam Ca Na International Port
(Ninh Thuan), Hoa Phat Dung Quat general - container port (Quang Ngai).
