Binh Dinh held an investment promotion conference in Sakai, Japan

On the afternoon of May 31, 2023, Binh Dinh province cooperated with the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association in Sakai and the Office of Industry and Trade in Sakai to organize an investment promotion conference with Japanese enterprises, in Sakai city, Osaka. The conference was co-chaired by Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Mr. Kato Hirosuke, Chairman of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association in Sakai, Mr. Kazumura, Chairman of the Office of Industry and Trade in Sakai. More than 40 Japanese enterprises attended the Conference.

At the conference, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan informed Japanese authorities and businesses about the province's potential and strengths, Binh Dinh province wished to further strengthen cooperation in investment, trade and education - Training, developing human resources and connecting tourism between localities and businesses of two countries, towards green growth and sustainable development.

He emphasized that Japan is one of the most important partners of Binh Dinh province. The province has attracted 19 projects from Japanese investors and enterprises (accounting for 22% of the total number of the FDI projects, with total registered capital of USD 94.17 million (including 10 industrial projects with value of USD 72.30 million; 7 trade and service projects with value of USD 1,03 million; 2 agriculture project with value of USD 20.84 million). Those Japanese projects operate effectively, contributing to creating jobs and increasing incomes for people in Binh Dinh province.

At the conference, Japanese businesses appreciated the Binh Dinh provincial leadership, the province's top leaders to organize an investment promotion trip to Japan, which showed great efforts and determination to promote deep connection between Binh Dinh province and Japanese localities, agencies and enterprises.

Many Japanese businesses believe that the potential for trade cooperation between the two sides is enormous, including the import and export of potentially strong products between the two sides such as shrimp, fruit, agricultural products, tuna, industrial products, granite stone, veneer, pellets... In addition, with a labor force that is friendly, industrious, hard-working, it always receives compliments from Japanese factories and enterprises. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen human resource development.

The co-chair people of the Conference answered questions of participants, which related to tax policy, trade policy, seaport infrastructure, infrastructure rental policy, commercial services, labor...

Closing the investment promotion conference, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan emphasized: "In my understanding, Japanese enterprises have strengths in machinery manufacturing industry, mechanical engineering, software industry, artificial intelligence, high-tech agriculture, environment, automation, logistics, seaports, health, education, labor... so with this opportunity, I would like to recommend the authorities, the Japanese investors and businesses should come to survey in Binh Dinh province to see a dynamic and creative area."

Over the last few years, Binh Dinh province has received much support of the central government and ministries to promote and introduce its image, potential and advantages, actively organized many investment promotion missions in the Japanese market and created a good impression on Japanese investors and enterprises. The province has also established and strengthened cooperation relationships with the Japan - Vietnam Friendship Association in Sakai City, Izumizano and many other localities of Japan, especially Osaka.

Binh Dinh province has determined to invest in upgraded socio-economic infrastructure, reformed administrative procedures, improved competitiveness in the year 2023 and the following years; the local government is actively working on promoting and attracting more Japanese investors to Binh Dinh to learn and start investment.
