FPT Software broke ground at its complex of research, production, and technology training center

On May 19, 2023, FPT Software (a member company of FPT Corporation) held the groundbreaking ceremony of the FPT Software Research, Production and Technology Center Complex in Quy Hoa valley, area 2, Ghenh Rang ward, Quy Nhon city, Binh Dinh province.

Attending the event, on the side of provincial leaders, there were Mr. Lam Hai Giang - Provincial Member, Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Le Hoai Nghi - Provincial Council Member, Director of Binh Dinh Department of Planning and Investment; Mr. Nguyen Phuong Nam - Vice Chairman of Quy Nhon City People's Committee and representatives of concerned authorities and training institutions in the province. On the side of FPT corporation, there were Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa - General Director of FPT; Mr. Tran Dang Hoa - Chairman of FPT IS; Mr. Nguyen Tuan Minh - Human Resources Director of FPT Software; Mr. Le Hong Linh - Director of Central Region FPT Software; Ms. Doan Thi My Thuong - Director of FPT Software Da Nang; Mr. Vu Van Dong - Director of FPT Software Binh Dinh; Mr. Nguyen The Quang - Regional Director of FPT Telecom and representatives of departments and divisions of the Corporation.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Lam Hai Giang - Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee said that Binh Dinh is known as the land with various potentials and prospects, many large domestic and international reputable investors have chosen Binh Dinh as an investment destination. Over the last few years, the province has invested in the construction and development of Quy Hoa Technology Urban Area, the first multi-functional urban area in Vietnam. And today with the Complex Project of FPT Software Research, Production and Technology Training Center and the commitments of FPT’s Chairman Truong Gia Binh to convert Binh Dinh into a cradle of artificial intelligence, once again showing the success of Quy Hoa urban area, a new, creative but challenging direction to get a strong foundation for sustainable development in the future. It is the development direction in line with the province's policy to develop science, education and technology. The project will contribute to improving the operational efficiency of Quy Hoa Technology Urban Area and the local socio-economic development.

Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa - General Director of FPT said, "With the vision and strategy of the province and the strength of FPT, we have chosen Binh Dinh to invest in making Binh Dinh the center of training and science and technology reaching with worldwide vision. The science and technology complex will be the destination of tens of thousands of technology workers, of which there will be thousands of technology staff from Eastern European countries, India, etc. We expect that the project will contribute to attracting and retaining high-quality human resources for Binh Dinh. FPT is committed to devoting all resources to ensure the progress and quality of the project at the highest level, bringing FPT's best human resource to this area. I believe that with the support of the province, FPT will create the best and happiest learning and working environment for students and people of Binh Dinh.”

On February 5, 2023, FPT Software officially received the Investment Certificate to build the Complex of Center for Research, Production and Training of Technology Experts in Quy Nhon. With an investment of more than VND 2,000 billion, the complex will be a workplace, research, development and study place for 20,000 technology personnel, contributing to the development of high-quality human resources for the locality attracting international human resources to realize the goal of converting Quy Nhon into the artificial intelligence center of Southeast Asia.

At the same time, this will also provide high-tech services, based on world-trending technologies such as AI, big data, Internet of things, automation, etc., thereby, contributing to improving competitiveness. competition of Vietnamese technology enterprises, as well as promoting technology to become an important economic sector of Binh Dinh province.

FPT has the aspiration to make Binh Dinh a leading artificial intelligence (AI) center in the region, a scientific center for experimenting with the world's latest technologies. In 2021, FPT Corporation signed a provincial planning agreement for the 2021-2030 period, a vision to 2050 and a cooperation agreement to promote digital transformation in the 2021-2025 period, those are important milestones for the future.

Previously, FPT signed a cooperation agreement with the world's leading AI Research Institute - Mila within 3 years (2020-2023). One of the important goals of this cooperation is that based on Mila's experience and consultancy, the two sides will build and develop the world's leading AI Research Center in Quy Nhon. FPT's Artificial Intelligence Center project in Quy Nhon covers an area of about 94 hectares with a total value of more than VND 4,362 billion. The project includes works such as: Technology intensive research and development center, artificial intelligence (AI), software product manufacturing facility and other ancillary works.
