On the afternoon of 03/17/2017, at the Office of the Provincial People’s Committee (PPC), Standing Vice Chairman Phan Cao Thang and concerned departments had a meeting Mr. Nguyen Thinh Phu - General Director of CLV Marketing Wilmar under Wilmar International (Singapore) who came to find out investment opportunities in a cooking oil and wheat processing plant and seaport. This is a primary visit in order to prepare for the next survey of Wilmar group.

Wilmar International is a group specialized in food and agricultural products. It is the world's biggest supplier and manufacturers of palm oil products, oil-based chemicals... Wilmar also specializes in the field of pressing oilseed and processing of wheat, sugar and rice. Wilmar owns more than 500 factories and an extensive distribution network in over 50 countries across Europe, Asia, Africa. The group currently has 4 plants and 4 representative offices in Vietnam with almost 2,000 employees.
Wilmar plans to build a cooking oil and wheat processing plant in an area of 10 hectares, with capacity of 400 to 500 tons/day and capital of approximately USD 30 million, and a sea port in Nhon Hoi Economic Zone. If approved by the province, the group will conduct further studies on policies and project sites.
After the discussion, Department of Planning and Investment and the Economic Zone Administration are going to support Wilmar in making surveys and investigating sites for its projects and procedures to formulate the projects.
