A the meeting with relateddepartments on the morning of 08/07/2016, the investors proposedthe idea of installing a freewifi system for the city so that travellers and local people are able to getaccess to informationeasily, the service will contribute to construction ofelectronic government that the city is aiming at.

The investor is committed to building a wifi network with the access points (APs) supporting two bands 2.4GHz and 5,15GHz usingMESH technologywith high speed. The APs are to beinstalled on lightposts with aheight of 3.15 to 7 meters and the distance between two APs is 150m.

If Quy Nhon is coveredwith wifi network,visitors and travellers can easily access and search information; whichwill create a good image and reputation for Binh Dinh tourism. At present, investorsare preparing a detailed proposal to the provincial people’s committee forconsideration and decision.

In 2012, Hoi An (Quang Nam)became the first city to implement a free wifi system with 350 access points. Afterthat, Ha Long and Hue citadel are the next two localities to trial the system;the implementation is believed to increase online cultural and educationalactivities, promote tourism,supervise, give warnings of environmental issues, and improve urban traffic management... In Danang,since 2013, the city has installed 320 access points in public areas,travel routes, administrative centres,densely populated areas to help people access information and useonline public services. And mostrecently, Vung Tau city has appeared on the listof localities to start trial of the system.
