Meeting with New Zealand Ambassador to Vietnam in Binh Dinh

On the morning of June 6, 2022 at the Office of the Provincial People's Committee, the Standing Vice Chairman Nguyen Tuan Thanh warmly welcomed the delegation of the New Zealand Embassy in Vietnam led by Ambassador Tredene Dobson on the occasion of her visit to Binh Dinh province. The meeting was attended by leaders of the Departments of Foreign Affairs, Health, Agriculture and Rural Development, Industry and Trade, Planning and Investment.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's
Committee (PPC) Nguyen Tuan Thanh thanked the New Zealand government for the great
support to Binh Dinh province. The Vice Chairman emphasized that with flexible
measures, Binh Dinh province was a bright spot in the prevention of Covid-19
and the province is currently focusing on economic development and investment
attraction. The Provincial leaders appreciated the projects that the New
Zealand government and organizations had carried out in Binh Dinh province such
as the Binh Dinh safe vegetable project from June 2016 to May 2021, the "Improving
the quality and utilization of maternal and child health care services” project
from 2005-2009, English language training scholarship programs for officials,
etc. Binh Dinh province wishes to connect and develop tourism, health,
education with New Zealand. Especially, in the current period, Binh Dinh is
promoting investment in industrial parks, New Zealand investors are expected to
find investment opportunities in the locality.
Speaking at the meeting, the New Zealand Ambassador expressed her deep impression of the natural beauty of Binh Dinh's landscape. She was greatly happy to arrive in the locality after more than a year of assignment at the Embassy and the Covid-19 epidemic had disrupted most business trips. She was pleased to see that New Zealand's support and cooperation in the programs and projects in Binh Dinh had brought many positive results and Binh Dinh had been more and more developed. She believed that in the future the New Zealand government shall continue to provide support to Binh Dinh province. In the near future, with the "dyke safety program" supported by New Zealand government which is currently being implemented in many provinces and cities, she hoped that Binh Dinh could participate in phase 3 of this program.
On the same day, the Delegation visited the Neonatal Department of the Provincial General Hospital, Binh Dinh safe vegetable selling point - La Lanh brand at Co.opmart Quy Nhon supermarket and VietGAP safe vegetable production model at Phuoc Hiep Agricultural Cooperative (Phuoc Hiep commune, Tuy Phuoc disrrict).
