Binh Dinh and Binh Duong closely work together to promote Becamex Binh Dinh Industrial - Urban - Service Complex

On the morning of 5th January 2018, at the Office of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee (PPC), the leaders of Binh Dinh province had a meeting with Binh Duong delegation led by leaders of Binh Duong PPC and general director of Investment and Industrial Development Corporation (Becamex IDC) in order to review 01 year of implementing the cooperation agreement of the period 2017-2021 between two provinces and the implementation of Becamex Binh Dinh Industrial - Urban - Service Complex project in Binh Dinh commune, Van Canh district, Binh Dinh province.

At the meeting, the PPC Vice Chairman Phan Cao Thang briefed on one-year implementation of socio-economic development cooperation between Binh Duong and Binh Dinh provinces in areas such as investment, finance, trade... especially, two provinces have closely cooperated in supporting IDC in preparing for Becamex Binh Dinh Industrial - Urban - Service Complex project, expected to cover 2,308 ha in Canh Vinh commune (Van Canh district). The project’s total capital of the first phase is over VND 5,000 billion. It is an important project anticipated to drive the economic growth of the locality. In order to facilitate the project implementation, the local government has built the western road of the province (DT.639B), with total capital of VND 1,554,521 billion.

Mr Nguyen Van Hung, General Director of IDC said that due to difficulties in legal procedures, the implementation of the project has been delayed two years; especially the investor must carefully calculate the project’s comparative advantages compared with other industrial parks in the area.

The PPC Chairman Mr. Ho Quoc Dung emphasized that the province is concentrating on speeding up the construction of traffic infrastructure connecting the road from Van Canh district to Quy Nhon city to create the most convenient transport network from Becamex to Quy Nhon International sea Port. In addition, the province is upgrading Phu Cat Airport to convert it into an international airport linking area to other countries in the world. Regarding the resettlement of people, he asserted: "Binh Dinh leadership promise to give the best support and create the most favorable conditions for the investor. Becamex's success is associated with the economic development of the province. Therefore, the province is wholly devoted to this project.

Secretary of Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Tran Van Nam appreciated one-year outcomes of collaboration between Binh Dinh and Binh Duong provinces. He confirmed that the leaders of two parties will regularly urge and create great conditions for IDC to implement the project in Binh Dinh. He also said that the project does not pursue pure profits but works on the principles of harmonizing the goals: economic and social growth, people's life, and environment and to establish good reputation in Binh Dinh. The project will learn experiences from Binh Duong to generate new success.
